Can I bring a plus-one?
If your invitation includes a plus-one, absolutely! Otherwise, we’re keeping the day to the guests specifically named on each invitation.
Are kids welcome?
Absolutely. If you’ve got little ones, they’re more than welcome to come along. But if you’ve been looking for an excuse to organise a babysitter and enjoy a kid-free night, we’re also very happy to take the blame.
What should I wear?
Garden party. Think polished, colourful and wedding-appropriate without going excessively formal. Dresses, jumpsuits, suits, blazers and nice separates all work. The ceremony is outdoors, so keep Brisbane weather and grass in mind when you choose your outfit and shoes.
If you wear white, you’ll be wearing wine. This is your written warning.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We’re having an unplugged ceremony, so phones away while we’re getting married, please. We’ve got Nolan there to capture everything properly—we promise you’ll get to see the photos. Once the ceremony’s over, go nuts.
Can I post photos on social media?
Absolutely—post away! We just ask that you don’t post any photos or videos featuring us until we’ve had the chance to share something ourselves. Anything that doesn’t feature the newlyweds is fair game.
Do you have a gift registry?
Nope. Gifts are absolutely welcome, but they’re not expected. We’d much rather have you there celebrating with us, so please don’t feel like you need to bring anything. If you do bring a card or gift on the day, there’ll be a small gift table at the reception.
What about dietary requirements or allergies?
You can include all dietary requirements and allergies when you RSVP and we’ll pass them on to the venue. If you have a severe or life-threatening allergy—particularly to something commonly used in food—please also let us know directly so we can make absolutely sure it’s accounted for.
Will the ceremony be indoors or outdoors?
We’re planning to get married outdoors on the Engineers Lawn, with the reception inside the Engineers Hut. Brisbane weather permitting, of course.
What happens if it rains?
We’re getting married regardless. If Brisbane decides not to cooperate, we’ll move the ceremony inside the Engineers Hut. It’ll be a little cosier, but everyone will stay dry and the show goes on.
When do I need to RSVP by?
Please RSVP by 26 August 2027. It gives us enough time to get everything organised and make sure the venue has everything it needs.
Can I change my RSVP?
Absolutely. You can update your RSVP through your personalised invitation anytime up until 26 August 2027. After that, if something changes, please give us a call rather than updating it online.
Do I need to say goodbye before I leave?
Absolutely not. We fully endorse the Irish goodbye. We love you, we’re glad you came, and we paid far too much money for this night to spend it standing at the door saying goodbye to everyone individually. When you’re ready to head home, sneak out and we’ll see you next time.
Can I request a song?
You have to! We’ll ask you for one song when you RSVP. If inspiration strikes later, you can add more through the song request section on the homepage. Give us something that’ll get you on the dance floor.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No—The Hills is a licensed venue, so please leave the BYO at home. There’ll be plenty available from the bar.
Can I smoke or vape?
Yep, but only in the designated outdoor smoking areas. Please keep smoking and vaping to those areas.
Will the ceremony be livestreamed?
Yep! If you can’t make it in person, you’ll still be able to watch us get married right here on the website. The countdown on the homepage will turn into the livestream when it’s time.
Can I share my invitation link?
Please don’t. Your invitation link is personalised specifically to you and your household and gives access to your RSVP. If someone needs access to the wedding website, send them the main website instead—keep your personal invitation link to yourself.
